Yifu Shao whose English name is Sir Run Run Shaw was born in Shanghai in October 1907 and he had four brothers and three sisters. Between 13 and 19 years old, he was in America for improving himself. After growing up, he followed his third older brother to Singapore to start his first film company. After that, he took a deep interest in the movie business. In 1967 ,he began to run a TV station named TVB in Hong Kong. Today, it is one of the top 5 television producers (制造者) in the world. And plenty of good TV plays and movies were made in his companies. In his life, he donated (捐赠) billions of dollars to charity, including schools and hospitals. Due to his caring actions , his name can be found on plenty of buildings across China, you can certainly find some in Harbin. In 2002, he established the Shaw Prize for great scientists who worked out puzzles all over the world. Yifu Shao often said, "I hate to live a mean(吝啬的)and empty life, because I need to make more contributions."
